today. was. freaking. amazing.

Hey, so Amy came today! I was so anxious about it all because I didn't want people to be stupid about it and I wanted everyone to like her and I wanted to make sure everybody who wanted to go got the chance to and IT WENT SO WELL. :) Everybody loved her and I was quite surprised with the behavior of certain people haha. They were all really into it and eventually got over the semi-awkwardness (because something like this has never been done before). In no time, people were asking questions and when Amy was finished performing, just about everybody who was there went up to talk to her and get an autograph. Some even got pictures and one kid asked for her number. Hahahaha! The rest of the day consisted of people coming up to me asking "How do you know her?" or saying "That was so cool!" People REALLY liked her! My teacher even started talking about how great she was, and other students mentioned how they're going to check her out on Myspace and buy her music. SO COOL. I'm pretty sure this performance caused the recruiting of some new fans. I'm trying to rally some of 'em up to come to the city next Saturday to the Living Room. :) A couple people who wanted to see her got turned away (which I'm pissed about, but I'm working on getting them to come on Saturday), but for the most part, everyone who really wanted to got to see the performance. We had people sitting on the floor ha. Silly little band room.

And the performance- oh. my. god. I haven't actually seen Amy play live since August and AHH. She was just- there are no words. I LOVE HER. I literally just sat here trying to think of a word that best describes her and couldn't think of one that would be accurate enough. Anyway, she told her share of funny stories and interacted so well with everyone as well. For those who are wondering, she sang "Simple Things," "BOOKMARK," "Sore Loser," "All Downhill From Here," "Love is Trippy," and "Appreciate Your Hands." Apparently "Appreciate Your Hands" was just for me...though I didn't even ask her to sing it. I was thinking about asking her to, but didn't. IT WAS BREATHTAKING. Literally. I honestly was mesmerized. I've never gotten to see it live and it was just...wonderful. Beyond wonderful. I still have no idea how she knew it's my favorite...hm. :)

Every single song was marvelous. Every. Single. One. I can't express how much I adore her. I'm so grateful for everything Amy and Reese have done for me. IT WAS SO GREAT TO SEE THEM. At my school, nonetheless. I can't get over it. Never will.

Oh, and since last night, my head has felt like it's going to explode. I have a cold and that feeling that you get when your ears need to pop...it's just constant. VERY irritating as everything sounded slightly muffled all day and I couldn't even hear my own voice clearly. Hate it. And my throat is still sore. LAME. These factors prevented me from being able to sing along (without making anybody partially deaf) with Amy. I have to admit, I felt kind of awkward haha. I kept feeling everyone's glances on me throughout the performance...which isn't a bad thing. I'm just not used to it ha. I wish I were more comfortable with that...and with being the only person (besides Sherine and Kirsten) lip-synching to all the songs. I did anyway. OH, and I wish I'd taken pictures and videos. Yeah, I know. I wasn't sure if I was "allowed" to take my camera out...which now makes no sense to me but whatever. The memories will last forever anyway haha.

There's the scoop, if you were wondering. :) Today was one of the coolest days of my life- unbelievable. Ahh.

So I looooveee you for writing this. Thanks for updating those who weren't able to be there!! Why couldn't some ppl come and others could? Just curious. Also, could you update on NY? Maybe? I heard you did merch? Ummmm....WHAT? :)

Well I had a list of people who wanted to go but didn't have music or art and after the band room was full, Mr. Slasinski (he was "in charge") started telling people to go back to class and my friend Melody, being the nice girl she is, went back to class. All the kids had to do was a little complaining and he let them in haha. Or they'd be like "Leah put me on the list" and he would allow them in. People wound up sitting on the floor haha...I think Reese was too.

And I shall write about NY, I suppose. When I get to it. Ha. I did handle merch...it was quite fun. :)

Amy mentioned that in NYC. She said she played for about a half hour and then there was a Q&A session, and everyone had a great time. Nice to know the set list -- I am glad I know someone who went to it!

I know Amy from YouTube btw. The Blower's Daughter FTW!!! yayness.
